Stay In Your Box

Stay in your box.

What? Stay in your box…

Aren’t you supposed to think outside of the box?!

This is Kobe Bryant’s way of staying focused and dedicated to the mastery of your craft.

“You have to dance beautifully in the box that you’re comfortable dancing in. My box was to be extremely ambitious within the sport of basketball. Your box is different than mine. Everybody has their own.” – Kobe Bryant

The hardest thing for most people is to cut out doing a lot of non-essential things. It’s not as much about doing the right things as it is not doing the wrong things.

You know what to do to be successful. It’s just that you get tests of distraction non-stop by shiny object syndrome of things other people are doing. You don’t need twenty different ways to get the result. You just need one!

In today’s world of instant gratification due to social media and technology a lot of people dabble from one thing to the next. Whenever someone asks me what new project I’m working on I say the same one I have been working on for the last 7 years. They look at me like I’m an amateur and move on to find a more sophisticated person to talk to.

The cool thing that happens when you do this is you build a moat around your business where nobody can compete with you because you are creating from your true authenticity.

You also become a true master of your craft like Kobe Bryant was at basketball. It’s especially rare these days because most people aren’t after mastery, they are after fame and recognition.

My box used to be basketball. Now it is being a master at learning the skills, tools and strategies to help people make the mental, emotional and physiological shifts they need to make to be peak performers in their business and life.

So…what’s your box and what’s the one thing you need to master within your box to get the results you want and impact the lives you want to impact?
