The Four Vagabonds

I’m reading Henry Ford’s biography by Steven Watts.

One of the great things I’ve read so far is about the adventures of the “Four Vagabonds.”

Who are the “Four Vagabonds?”

Thomas Edison, Harvey Firestone, John Burroughs, and Henry Ford.

They called themselves the “Four Vagabonds” because they would take trips together to explore nature throughout the United States.

“Ford and his fellow campers enhanced their technological achievements by seeking inspiration and amusement in the great natural spaces of the United States.”

They made the time for this because they knew that in order to have the massive impact they had through technology they had to connect with the ultimate technology….nature.

You don’t have to go on a camping trip to Yosemite.

All you have to do is turn off your technology for a few hours and go for a walk outside.
